Iranian Charge D’affairs Pays a Courtesy Call on the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation

The Iranian Charge D’ Affairs Mr. Mahmoud Hassan Alizadeh has paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mrs. Nimatulai Bah-Chang, at her Tower Hill Office in Freetown.

According to Mr. Mahmoud Hassan Alizadeh, his visit is to strengthen and deepen the existing bilateral relationship between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Sierra Leone. He also underscored the Iranian government’s commitment in enhancing the New Direction policy for the mutual benefit of both countries. ‘My visit is to also expedite the arrival of our new Ambassador to the Republic of Sierra Leone’, he concluded.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mrs. Nimatulai Bah-Chang, in her welcome statement, highlighted the long standing bilateral relations between Iran and the Republic of Sierra Leone and called for the review and/ or implementation of the economic cooperation agreement that Iran and Sierra Leone signed back in 2015.

The Deputy Minister also stressed the significant role that Iran and Sierra Leone’s private sectors and chambers of commerce could play in the enhancement of tarred ties and assured the Charge’ D’ Affairs of the Iranian Embassy in Sierra Leone of her Ministry’s commitment to work towards the arrival of the new Ambassador.

The Deputy Minister and the Iranian envoy also discussed other issues of mutual benefit to both countries including: agriculture, trade and industry, education and health.

Present was the Director for Middle East and Asia, Madam Rakie Marcathy in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
