NASSIT Edifies Foreign Ministry Staff

A team of experts from the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) are on a two-day working visit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to educate staff of the Ministry on the different operations of the NASSIT scheme.

In his brief statement during a courtesy call on the Director General and a cross section of senior management staff of the Ministry, the Assistant Manager for Public Affairs-NASSIT, Mr. Prince Amadu stated that, the aim of their visit to the Ministry is to educate its members on the several challenges raised with regards to: registration anomalies; update of registration records and statements of accounts.

Welcoming the NASSIT team to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Director General, Mr. Paul A.S. Minah noted that this is the first time NASSIT officers have officially engaged staff of the Ministry with regard the social security scheme. He described their visit as timely underscoring that staff members were yarning for this interactive opportunity with NASSIT to enhance their contribution and participation to the scheme.

The NASSIT delegation presented some NASSIT calendars and diaries to the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.  The NASSIT team also held a fruitful meeting with the general staff of the Ministry.

Also present at the meeting were: the Deputy Directors General for Operations and Policy, Directors for: Admin and Research and Knowledgement of the Ministry; Head of Benefits NASSIT, Mr. Edwin Kamara; and In Charge of Government Institutions-NASSIT, Mr. Ahmed Kabia.
