Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Tower Hill, Freetown, 2nd March, 2022. Sierra Leone’s Foreign Minister, Professor David John Francis has today received His Excellency Ahmad Bin Abdul Aziz Khattan, Adviser to the Royal Court and special envoy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who is on a day visit to Sierra Leone and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, H.E Khattan conveyed the greetings of Custodian of the two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, while the Foreign Minister sent his greetings and appreciation to Custodian of the two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and his good wishes to the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of further development and prosperity, stressing that Sierra Leone stands with Saudi Arabia towards various issues aiming at realizing peace and security in Africa.

In a meeting with His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio , the President voiced Sierra Leone’s unweaving support to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s bid to host EXPO-2030 in Riyadh. This to delegation was a positive step and achievement of their visit. Both sides went over bilateral relations on the opening of Saudi Arabia Embassy in Sierra Leone and the future of the relationship between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Sierra Leone.

Following the discussions, both the Foreign Minister and H.E Khattan made statements to the media, during which they expressed happiness for the level of relations between the two Countries.
