Turkey and Sierra Leone Strengthen Bilateral Relations

The Ambassador of Turkey to Sierra Leone, His Excellency Deha Erpek has said, that progress has been recorded in bilateral relations between Turkey and Sierra Leone over the past few years. He made this statement during a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Alie Kabba at his Tower Hill office in Freetown.

Ambassador Deha Erpek stated that the Turkish Embassy in Freetown has commenced its operations since February 2018, and his visit was to further deepen and strengthen the existing bilateral relationship between Turkey and the Republic of Sierra Leone. He assured the Minister of Turkey’s continuous development assistance support in various domains to Sierra Leone through the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).
Dr. Alie Kabba in his brief welcome statement expressed appreciation to the Turkish government in enhancing the Turkey-Sierra Leone relations, with a view to accelerating the New Direction’s development agenda.

Whilst extending fraternal greetings to his counterpart Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Dr. Kabba underscored the need to enhance trade and economic cooperation in the areas of trade, investment and finance to SMEs, health, energy and technology.
Present were: the Director General, Mr. Paul A.S. Minah and the Director for Protocol, Mr. Sahr E. Johnny in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
