Following the official announcement of the death of the seventh UN Secretary-General (from 1997 to 2006) Kofi Atta Annan on August 18 this year, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. Alie Kabba accompanied by the Deputy Minister, Mrs. Nimatulai Bah-Chang, has signed the book of Condolence at the Ghana High Commission, Spur Road, Freetown.

In a solemn mood, Dr. Alie Kabba, lamented that, the late diplomat from the West African country of Ghana is considered a President wherever he is right now as he was on the world stage carrying himself to the full weight of Africa, and that is why all Africa is mourning today.

The Minister informed that the Republic of Sierra Leone is mourning together with Ghana, and assured that the country will continue to cooperate with Ghana as they have always been as brothers working through history with a shared vision.

“What he has done is to leave us with legacy, a legacy that will inspire us all and generation to come, so, I want the people of Ghana to know that they are not alone in this very difficult moment, the whole of Sierra Leone is with them as our brothers and sisters’, Dr. Kabba said. ‘Ghana, please keep the faith and may his soul rest in Perfect peace’. He concluded.

The Ghanaian High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, with Residence in Freetown, His Excellency, Francis Abakah, disclosed that discussions are ongoing by family members to confirm funeral arrangements.
